By: C. Guillermo Bueno and María Isabel Mujica

This month in what we are reading, C. Guillermo Bueno interviews María Isabel Mujica, postdoc at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, who will tell us about the interactions between orchid mycorrhizal fungi, their plant hosts, soil nutrients, and other fungal guilds.

Her recent paper in FEMS Microbiology Ecology entitled “Soil P reduces mycorrhizal colonization while favors fungal pathogens: observational and experimental evidence in Bipinnula (Orchidaceae)” can be found here: https://doi.org/10.1093/femsec/fiaa178
